My name is Hana and I am a medical student at King’s College London.
Modern education systems often repel rather than attract students from developing a love for learning. The focus is on exams – crafting the perfect exam answer rather than engaging with and developing an appreciation for how fascinating the content is. I am keen to share my excitement and love for the subjects I teach with my students.
I am passionate about instilling the skills needed for a sustainable, enjoyable and positive approach to studying, and advocate for the importance of a strong work-life balance for good mental health.
Tutoring for 3 years has given me an appreciation for student-centred tuition. I take great care in building rapport and understanding my student’s learning styles and personalities. This creates a positive learning environment in which students have no hesitation to ask questions.
Having taken a gap year after A levels, I can also advise students who are thinking about a gap year about what to do and how to do it. This includes answering any questions about UCAS reapplications, travelling or getting a job.
At A level, I achieved A* A* A in Biology, Chemistry and Geography respectively. I also achieved A* in my Extended Project Qualification and A* in my A level geography coursework. I received several offers to medical school including King’s College London and Glasgow. I also hold an up to date DBS certificate.
In my spare time, I love to listen to podcasts, read, travel, play badminton and run. A few of my goals at the moment include completing a full marathon and developing my business.
I’d love to hear from you, so feel free to send me a message here if you have any questions!
